Vista Auto LLC, doing business as Vista Auto Auction ("Vista," "we," "us" or "our"), buys vehicles directly from private owners and works with dealers through Turn Automotive's wholesale marketplace. This policy explains how we collect, use and share personal information when you visit vistaautoauction.com, contact us by Facebook, phone, text or email, request an appraisal, sell us a vehicle or work with us as a dealer.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Contact details, such as your name, phone number and email address.

• Vehicle details, such as year, make, model, mileage, VIN, condition, photos, location, asking price, and title or loan status.

• Your messages and requests when you contact us by Facebook, phone, text or email. Blog comments are public.

• If you sell us a vehicle: identity documents (such as a copy of your driver's license), title and registration, odometer disclosure, bill of sale, signatures, lender and payoff details, and the information needed to pay you. Most of this is collected through DealNow, the transaction platform we use.

• If you're a dealer: business contact details, such as your name, title, dealership, phone and email.

Information collected automatically on our website

When you visit our website, our website platform (Wix) and the other services described under "Cookies, analytics and advertising" automatically collect information such as your IP address, browser and device type, general location, pages viewed, links and buttons clicked, the website that sent you to us, and the date and time of your visit.

Information from other sources

• Public listings. When you list a vehicle for sale on Facebook Marketplace or another public site, we may receive the listing, including your public profile name, directly or through listing-data services, and contact you about the vehicle.

• Turn Automotive. The "Sell Your Car" and "Get My Offer" forms on our website are provided by Turn Automotive. When you submit one, Turn receives your information, may text you a verification code and a link to start your appraisal, and sends us your name, email, phone number and the form you used. Turn also shares your vehicle's appraisal results and status with us.

• Partners. In some areas, partners that contact sellers for us share seller and vehicle details and appraisal status with us.

• Dealer information. We collect business contact information about dealers and their staff from sources such as LinkedIn, business-contact databases and dealership websites. When a dealer registers with Turn through our link, Turn shares registration and activity information with us.

How we use information

• To respond to you and communicate about your vehicle, appraisal, offer and sale.

• To arrange your appraisal, prepare offers, buy your vehicle, and complete the paperwork, loan payoff, title transfer, payment and pickup.

• To sell vehicles we buy through Turn's marketplace and, with your permission, to get dealer offers for your vehicle there.

• To find vehicles for sale and contact their owners, and to contact dealers about working with us.

• To send text messages you agreed to receive (see our SMS Terms).

• To operate, secure and improve our website, and to measure and deliver our advertising.

• To keep business, accounting, tax and vehicle-title records, prevent fraud, resolve disputes and comply with the law.

We use software, including automation and AI-based tools from our service providers, to find listings, send and organize messages, draft replies for our team and keep records.

How we share information

• Turn Automotive provides our appraisal forms, its appraisal app and the wholesale marketplace we use. Turn handles the information you enter in its forms and app under its own privacy policy and SMS policy. When we list a vehicle, or seek dealer offers with your permission, dealers registered on Turn can see the vehicle's details, photos and condition report.

• Dealers receive vehicle details, photos and condition reports. We do not give dealers your name, phone number, email address or home address.

• Companies that help complete your sale: DealNow (documents, identity checks, funding, loan payoff, title tracking and payment), your lender, transport companies that pick up the vehicle (such as Ship Your Car Now, which receives the pickup location and contact details it needs), and the California DMV or other government agencies for title and registration.

• Partners that work with us to contact sellers in some areas receive the seller and vehicle details needed to follow up.

• Service providers that host or run our website, email, phone and text messaging, customer records, accounting, analytics and other business tools, including software and AI service providers.

• Advertising and analytics companies. Google and Meta collect information through our website, as described under "Cookies, analytics and advertising."

• Professional advisers, such as accountants, insurers and lawyers.

• Legal and safety reasons: to comply with law or legal process, protect rights and safety, and prevent fraud; and as part of a merger, sale or transfer of our business.

We don't sell your personal information for money, and we don't rent or trade customer lists.

Text messaging. We do not sell, rent or share text-message opt-in data or consent with any third parties or affiliates. Mobile phone numbers collected for our text messages are not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies, pixels and similar technologies, including some placed by other companies:

• Running the site. Wix and Cloudflare use cookies to operate and secure the site.

• Analytics. Wix analytics and Google Analytics measure how visitors use our site, such as pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, form use and device type.

• Advertising. We use Google Ads and Meta (Facebook) to advertise online, measure our ads and show our ads to people who have visited our site.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google and Meta, show our ads on sites across the internet.

  • They use cookies, pixels and device identifiers to collect information from our website and elsewhere online, and to serve ads based on your past visits to our website.

  • These companies may collect information about your activity on our site and on other websites over time, and use it under their own privacy policies.

  Wix also sends Meta information about visits, such as pages viewed.

• Turn's widget records when its "Sell Your Car" box is shown, opened or closed.

Google Analytics may send Google a coded (hashed) copy of an email address or phone number entered on our website to measure our ads.

Your choices about ads and cookies. You can:

• block or delete cookies in your browser settings;

• turn off personalized Google ads at google.com/settings/ads;

• opt out of Google Analytics with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout;

• opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at networkadvertising.org/managing/opt_out.asp and optout.aboutads.info;

• change your ad settings in your Facebook account;

• limit ad tracking in your phone's settings.

Do Not Track. Our website does not currently respond to browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals.

Your choices

• Text messages. Reply STOP to stop our texts, or HELP for help.

• Other contact. Tell us by Facebook, email or phone that you don't want to hear from us, and we'll stop contacting you about your vehicle.

• Access, correction and deletion. To ask what personal information we have about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it, email contact@vistaauto.com, call 866-748-4782 or send a message to our Facebook Page. Include the name, phone number or listing we contacted you about. We'll verify the request and respond as required by applicable law. We may keep information we must keep for legal, tax, title, accounting or transaction purposes, and a record of your request.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information for as long as we need it for the purposes in this policy, including to complete transactions, keep accounting, tax and vehicle-title records, resolve disputes and comply with the law.

How we protect information

We use reasonable measures designed to protect personal information, including keeping customer records in access-controlled systems that only authorized team members and service providers can reach. No system is completely secure.

Children

Our website and services are for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Other websites

Our website links to Turn, Facebook, Instagram, Google Maps and other services. Their own privacy policies apply when you use them.

Changes to this policy

We'll post any changes on this page and update the effective date above.
